I don’t know if ending a sentence with a smiley face is proper English, but I know 2 things: The iPhone is cooler than the Centro, but I would rather have the Centro.
- The iPhone is a multimedia dream come true! The Centro takes pics and videos, can manage them into folders, & slideshows with background music. I can also watch full length dvd-quality movies on my small screen or use my Centro as a usb/thumb drive and watch my movies on a computer (laptop when I travel), I can listen to mp3s, live internet radio, watch YouTube videos, and watch LIVE tv on my Centro when I am bored, or waiting somewhere.
- The iPhone plays iTunes! Speaking of music, I can listen to my tunes using the speaker, or using stereo bluetooth headphones (see prior blog) Why would I ever use a WIRED headset again?- this is 2008!!!!
- The iPhone fits in your pocket…and must weigh close to 5 lbs (not really) but noticeably more than my Centro, which is also smaller in size overall.
- The iPhone has a high-res beautiful screen! Palm used to have devices with big touchscreens, like 20 years ago, but found that people prefer a tactile keyboard to type on and be more productive…and the Centro is not THAT hard to type on.
- The iPhone has wifi! But why do you need wifi when you have EVDO, and eventually rev-a/Wimax (on NOVA) And the Edge data network is…………………………………..just……………………………….so………………………………slow…… (which does suck for ATT Centro)
- Safari lets you do that cool thing with your fingers to enlarge and navigate a webpage! Why do I need to do that when I can scroll with my finger if I want to…on a page OPTIMIZED for my device?!
- Apple is easy to use! Palm is easy once you spend about 20 minutes figuring it out…I did this about 3 years ago, and since then have found it extremely easy to use. Here is all you need to know: learn where the menu and option button are, you can customize most buttons/features, and there is endless 3rd party software if you get bored, with the “factory” offerings.
- The iPhone is a lot less $ than when it first came out…but the Centro is only$100 for most wireless customers.
- The iPhone is compatible with my Mac! so is Palm OS
- and last but not least…The iPhone is cool and more hip…ok can’t argue with you on that one
but Palm does have a cool site called www.moreyous.com
If you disagree, with me, and I hope some of you do, or else there is no fun in writing such a blog, please let me know!!!
